Description
Plot Summary
In 1960, Israel announced the arrest of Adolf Eichmann, a former high-ranking Nazi German official known as the "executioner", and he was tried in Jerusalem in 1961. Renowned Jewish female philosopher Hannah Arendt (played by Barbara Sukova), who has been living in the United States for many years, was invited by The New Yorker to write about this trial. When Hannah Arendt went to Jerusalem to watch the trial, she found a discrepancy between Eichmann's exposition, public opinion, and her own philosophical thinking. When Arendt elevated Eichmann's actions to a philosophical level, her articles unsurprisingly sparked negative criticism and attacks in society, with some of Hannah Arendt's old friends even breaking up with her. This female student, who was once the most proud under Heidegger, wanted to escape unscathed in the midst of the storm, but found that everything was no longer as simple as she had expected.
