Plot Summary

The deep and vast outer space, the azure Earth, contrasts sharply with the bottomless and pitch black universe. A space station belonging to the United States is undergoing a spacewalk with several astronauts conducting routine checks on its satellite. Dr. Ryan Stone (played by Sandra Bullock), who is new to space, systematically inspects every component with the assistance of experienced astronaut Matt Kowalski (played by George Clooney). This is Kowalski's last flight before retirement, and he humorously enlivens the team atmosphere. At this moment, shocking news came from the Houston headquarters that a recently abandoned Russian satellite had been destroyed by a missile. The fragments scattered in Earth's orbit at a speed faster than bullets and accidentally hit other satellites, causing a chain reaction and creating new fragments.
