Description
Plot Summary
The drama is adapted from a true story and tells the story of Miep Gis (Bel Powley) assisting Otto Frank (Liev Schreiber) and his family in hiding to escape Nazi persecution during World War II. When Meipu was in her twenties, she received Otto's request to hide in her home in order to escape the persecution of Jews by the Nazis at that time. Meipu, her husband Yang, and others shouldered this heavy burden without hesitation; In the next two years, take care of eight refugees, including Otto and Anne. Although the hiding plan ended in failure in 1944, Meipu properly preserved Anne's diary written during her hiding period and returned it to the only surviving Otto after the war, organizing it into the most important documentary document thereafter. After World War II, Meipu and Yang established a social group to assist those who returned after the war and were committed to refuting some people's claims of diary fraud. In 2010, Meipu passed away in Amsterdam at the age of 100.
