Description
Plot Summary
The film is adapted from the novel by Harold Frederic (1856-1898), and the story is based on real history. The author experienced the American Civil War during his childhood. In the autumn of 1862 in New York State, there was a cattle farmer named Apollon Beech who was stubborn and held onto his beliefs. As a result, he firmly opposed the Civil War and broke with his neighbors and government.
