Description
Plot Summary
The film is a 90 minute television film produced to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz concentration camp, and tells the story of the century trial of Nazi high-ranking official Adolf Eichmann in 1961. This event, known as the 'Trial of the Century', was broadcasted on television in 37 countries and was also the world's first live broadcast of victims recounting the terror of death camps. This trial became the world's first global television news event, with extremely high ratings. The TV movie 'Trial of the Century' tells the story of how the behind the scenes production team behind live television overcame various obstacles and recorded Nazi testimonies. Martin Freeman plays the television producer Milton Fruchtman, who is skilled at taking a sharp edge in this incident. He hires director Leo Hurwitz (played by Anthony Rapaglia) to direct the trial broadcast.
