Plot Summary

The mute disciple of Shaolin (played by Jackie Chan) learns martial arts in order to avenge his father's murder. He starts by carrying water and chopping wood, and works hard to establish his internal skills. The scene of learning martial arts in the Wooden Man Lane often appears in his dreams. The tragic scene of his father's murder and the liberation of the Five Masters who live in Shaolin make him grit his teeth and persevere when he is tired.
