Description
Plot Summary
In the later stages of the Vietnam War, Captain Willard (Martin Sheen) of the United States was ordered to travel up the Mekong River to search for and bring back or kill Coats (Marlon Brando), who had defected from the American army and established his own kingdom in Cambodia. Coats was once a hero of the US military in the Vietnam War, with outstanding military achievements. However, one day, he suddenly disappeared. Subsequently, intelligence indicated that he established his own kingdom and army in Cambodia, specifically opposing the US military. Willard and several soldiers traveled along the river, witnessing various atrocities and killings along the way. They also witnessed the mental distortions and abnormal behaviors of both American soldiers and locals during the long war. Willard was greatly shocked. Willard was eventually captured by locals in the kingdom of Kotz in Cambodia and met Kotz. However, Kotz actually wanted to die and asked Willard to blow this place to the ground
