Plot Summary

During the Vietnam War, the US military recruited a large number of soldiers. A large number of young people have enlisted and received 'cruel' training in the new barracks. The 'fool' Bill has underdeveloped motor skills and often makes mistakes, causing everyone to be punished together. The Joker (played by Matthew Modine) is ordered to help Bill, but Bill still makes mistakes and harms others. Everyone couldn't bear it anymore and gave him a beating, causing Bill to become mentally dazed. He shot and killed the instructor before graduating from the new barracks and then committed suicide by swallowing a gun. The Joker was subsequently assigned to the military news group. He saw in the interview that his companions at that time had become numb and cruel. Once, while carrying out a mission with the Cowboy, the Joker was ambushed by a Vietnamese Communist sniper, and the Cowboy was unfortunately shot and killed. After a search, everyone injured the sniper. The Joker discovered that the sniper was actually a young girl.
