In 1942, Eichmann attended the Wanhu Conference and was appointed to be responsible for the final plan to massacre Jews, and was promoted to lieutenant colonel; Eichmann was responsible for the transportation and massacre of Jews to concentration camps for the most part. After World War II, Eichmann was captured by the United States but later escaped. After a long escape journey, Eichmann went into exile in Argentina. However, in 1961, Israel's intelligence agency Mossad discovered Eichmann's whereabouts and arrested him on May 11, 1960, secretly transporting him to Israel.
