Plot Summary

Once the top general of the Qing court, Su Can (played by Zhao Wenzhuo) abandoned his promising future and returned to his hometown. He had planned to study martial arts, establish a new dynasty, and never part ways with his wife Yuan Ying (played by Zhou Xun) and son, enjoying a harmonious family. Unexpectedly, due to the grudges of the previous generation, his adopted brother Yuan Lie (played by An Zhijie) practiced magic skills, killed Su's father, and abducted Su Can's wife and children. In the Battle of Riverside, Su Can was defeated and his life was at stake. His wife sacrificed herself to save him, and later he was rescued by the reclusive mountain expert Yu (played by Yang Ziqiong) who had tasted hundreds of herbs. The two were able to save their lives.
