Plot Summary

The little boy Hugo (Asa Butterfield) is born with mechanical control. He stays at the clock tower of Paris train station and occasionally goes to toy stores to steal parts to repair the robots left by his father (Jude Law). During a theft, he was caught on the spot by the shop owner George Merier (played by Ben Kingsley) and had to comply due to fear of the police officer with hunting dogs (played by Sacha Baron Cohen). George took away Hugo's father's relic - a mechanical manual, which made him anxious. He followed George to his home and met his adopted daughter Isabella (played by Chlo Moretz). He begged her to help him keep the manual. Isabella, on the other hand, felt that this matter was suspicious, so the two of them went together to investigate. The signature of the repaired robot painting showed George's name, which made them suspicious. Finally, they discovered the mysterious cabinet filled with paintings in George's home and found George's background in the movie books in the library. The appearance of an informant adds mystery to their fantasy adventure... This film is adapted from the novel of the same name by Brian Selznick and is Martin Scorsese's first 3D masterpiece.
