Plot Summary

Poor Ran Aran (played by Hugh Jackman) steals bread for starving children and is sentenced to 19 years of hard labor. After being released from prison, he had no other choice but to steal the silverware of the bishop who had sheltered him overnight and fled, but was caught by the police. The bishop claimed that the silverware was given to him to prevent him from being arrested.
