Plot Summary

Dr. Alexander, a former special forces agent, was asked to secretly reach a ceasefire agreement with Mexican drug trafficking groups. When Oklahoma Governor Richard Jeffs celebrated the execution of a senior drug cartel member on television, his chief of staff and doctors told him that he had just ended peace. But it's already too late, because Cuco, the killer of the drug trafficking group, has set his sights on Doc's daughter Dixie for revenge. They no longer let them be like Little Dixie: polished to the bone, all gestures and actions are just a few words. Nowadays, too many genres of movies attempt to create meaning by piling up ideas and intentions within narrative frameworks. John Swab, as always, went against the trend. Meaning and depth come from removing excess - by reducing the plot to its most fundamental essence, characters to their core industries and skills. In the end, Little Dixie felt like a vulgar novel version of the Giacometti sculpture, with all the terrifying symmetries and mirrors. The gem of crime movies, in its purest and most philosophical, proudly features the new favorite of black, Frank Grillo.
