Plot Summary

Mr. Hoppy's (Dustin Hoffman) retirement life appears quite plain on the surface, just taking care of the garden on the balcony, strolling from home to shops, and then back home. However, beneath these calm surfaces, he passionately and hopelessly fell in love with his downstairs neighbor, Mrs. Silver (played by Judi Dench). Their first encounter was in a crowded elevator. At that time, he was completely captivated by her cheerfulness and enthusiasm, but he always forgot to tell her about it, even though they often stood on their respective balconies chatting with each other as neighbors.
