Plot Summary

The classic works of the master Ingmar Bergman include Agnes (played by Harriet Andersson), Maria (played by Liv Ullmann), and Karin (played by Ingrid Thulin). Although they are three sisters, each has a deep-seated sense of estrangement and estrangement. Agnes is suffering from a terminal illness and her life is approaching. The maid Anna is guarding her. Agnes did not get the complete love of her mother. Before her death, she dreamed of making the sisters who were in tense relationship cherish each other, but she failed to do so again and again. Maria was the favorite child of her mother, so she was envied by her sisters. Her love life is a mess, hovering between her husband and lover. The more she possesses love, the more greedy she becomes. Karin's life is full of oppression. The deadlock in her relationship with her husband led her to sink into self torture. The wish for reconciliation is too distant. They want to get rid of the shadow of life and bring each other closer, but they find that the barrier seems unbreakable.
