Plot Summary

The story takes place at the end of World War II, when the German army built a huge submarine oil depot and a secret rocket launch base on a small island in Greece. Despite being grasshoppers in autumn, the Nazis remained arrogant and brutally treated prisoners of war, forcing them to work beyond their capacity. Chino (played by Telly Savalas) is the leader of a local armed group, whose ultimate goal is to destroy all German equipment on the island. Blake (played by David Niven), Nat (played by Richard Roundtree), and Dotty (played by Stefanie Powers), who are imprisoned in a prisoner of war camp, are attracted to this and establish contact with Chino in an attempt to violently seize control of the island. The operation was very successful, and the former prisoner of war camp commander Richter (played by Roger Moore) has now become a prisoner of war. With the persuasion of the crowd, Richter understands the ineffectiveness of resistance and decides to join forces with local resistance organizations to completely destroy the German stronghold on the island.
