Cambodian Pandi (played by Haing S. Ngor) is a local translator and assistant for Sinni. With the help of Pandi, Sini managed to turn danger into safety multiple times and escape the gates of hell. The two formed a deep friendship amidst the raging war. In 1975, the Khmer Rouge occupied Phnom Penh. Sini escaped unscathed, but Pandy was arrested for not having a passport and began a life in hell that was worse than death. During the labor reform of the Cambodian Communist Party, Pandi witnessed the brutality and bloodshed of the Khmer Rouge regime and was subjected to inhumane treatment. In 1978, the Vietnamese Communist Party invaded Cambodia, and Pandit took the opportunity to flee to the Thai border and reunite with his old friend Sinni, who had been searching for him. This film won three awards: Best Supporting Actor, Best Photography and Best Film Editing at the 57th Academy Awards in 1985.

Technical Specifications

Director:

Roland Jaffe

Cast:

Sam Watson, Wu Han, John Markovic, Julian Sanders

Audio:

EnglishDTS-HD5.1 / JapaneseDTS-HD5.1

Subtitles:

Japanese Simplified / Chinese Traditional

https://www.bluray-dvd.com/ja/products/1984-the-killing-fields-movie-1-disc-box-set-for-gift-collection-blu-ray
