Plot Summary

This time, the attack will take place in New York. After the efforts of the seventh season, Jack (played by Kiefer Sutherland) finally received a presidential pardon and now lives a simple, easy and happy life with his daughter and granddaughter. But this life didn't last long when a mercenary came knocking on Jack's door, hoping he could return to the reorganized CTU and help investigate an impending terrorist conspiracy. Originally, the president of a Middle Eastern country planned to sign a joint statement with President Taylor, but the opposition in the Middle Eastern country was eager to organize the signing of the joint statement and wanted to assassinate the president. Jack had to accept the mission, and at the same time, Chloe (played by Mary Lynn Rajskub) was temporarily summoned back to help Jack with data analysis. However, as a mother, Chloe couldn't concentrate on helping Jack wholeheartedly, and Jack had to investigate with a newcomer who had little experience dealing with terrorist attacks. In the face of the brand new CTU and the unfamiliar environment, can Jack still successfully prevent the attack?
