Plot Summary

On October 10, 1911, the Wuchang Uprising opened a new chapter in Chinese history. Afterwards, Sun Yat sen (played by Ma Shaohua) returned to China and became the interim president of the Republic of China, establishing the interim government of the Republic of China the following year. However, the decline of feudal dynasties and the hardships of the Chinese nation continue beneath the surface of the republic. Yuan Shikai (played by Chow Yun fat) usurped the position of President and secretly signed the Twenty One Demands with Japan, aiming to restore the imperial system. Amidst nationwide condemnation, the farce of restoration came to a tragic end, and the warlord chaos brought about new wars and pains. Amidst the national crisis, patriotic individuals and passionate young people are all heartbroken and filled with righteous indignation.
