Plot Summary

The film is the Latin version of Jane Austen's classic novel 'Sense and Sensibility'. The story is set in modern Los Angeles. Sister Nora Domitz (played by Camilla Belle) is a law school student, while sister Mary (played by Alexa Vega) is studying at home and only cares about shopping and attending parties for fun. They live an extremely luxurious life with their father in Beverly Hills. Mary refused to acknowledge her innate Mexican heritage, and her luxurious lifestyle disappeared with her father's sudden passing. The sisters not only became poor, but also were forced to move away from their current residence and move to the home of their estranged aunt, Olivia (Adriana Barraza), a community dominated by Latinos in Boyle Heights, east of Los Angeles. Both sisters are very frightened. They can neither speak Spanish nor have the sense of responsibility they should have. But they have no choice but to slowly change themselves to adapt to a new living environment, sell high-end sports cars, and take buses like ordinary people... Can Nora and Mary finally fully integrate into this cultural root that they have always rejected?
