Description

Plot Summary

Ali Numan (played by Forrest Whitaker) escaped a massacre when he was young. At that time, the military political party called Inkhata was in a state of war with the African National Parliament led by Nelson Mandela. Ali and his mother were lucky enough to survive, but like many survivors, their psychological trauma has been unable to heal. Today, Ali has become a head of the Serious Crime Unit at the Cape Town Police Department in the capital city. One of his subordinates is a white police officer named Brian Apken (played by Orlando Bloom). This person has a personality that dislikes following orders. Aipken's family was once involved in the implementation of racial segregation policies, but he got along well with Numan. Their work usually involves dealing with unemployed poor people, gangs, and drug traffickers. After the bodies of two young women were discovered, the situation became even more severe. A new type of drug and a new form of crime are threatening the local residents. At the noisy intersection of barbarism and civilization, the shadow left by apartheid policies still lingers over South African society struggling to seek reconciliation.
