Plot Summary

Starring Chen Kun and Li Bingbing, and co directed by Bao Dexi and Zhao Tianyu, this 3D fantasy film depicts the world of demons, gods in the heavenly court, and humans in the human realm. It was originally a journey of gods and ghosts, but they blurred the boundaries of the three realms for the sake of that line of covetousness, triggering a series of ups and downs of battles. In the prosperous Tang Dynasty, on the fifteenth day of the seventh lunar month of a certain year, coinciding with the once-in-a-millennium auspicious day of ascending to immortality, there were ghostly shadows in the important town of Hudu in the Western Regions, which were eerie and terrifying. The Luotuo scholar Zhong Kui (played by Chen Kun) was rescued by Zhang Daoxian (played by Zhao Wenxuan) and became the guardian of Hudu. He killed demons and delved deep into the demon realm to obtain demon spirits, thus initiating a great war with the demon realm.
