Plot Summary

The 50 year old version of "Cinderella" also balances fairy tale and reality, emphasizing the portrayal of Cinderella's character and explaining the causes of her stepmother's dark side. Personally, I think it is the most reasonable adaptation from animation to reality, and from a story perspective, it is also the best Cinderella to date. After her mother passed away, Rilla's (Lily James) father married the beautiful Mrs. Trane (Cate Blanchett), who also brought her two daughters, Anastasia (Holliday Grainger) and Triseria (Sophie McShera). Ruila lived peacefully with her stepmother and two sisters with a kind heart towards others, but everything changed dramatically after her father's death. Without her father's protection, Rilla became a complete slave to Mrs. Temany and a maid in the family. However, even though she suffered oppression and humiliation from her loved ones, Rilla still decided to stay and protect the family. By chance, Rilla met a man named Kit (played by Richard Madden), but she didn't know that the charming young man in front of her was a prince and thought he was just a mere attendant. The prince held a large banquet in the palace, inviting girls from all over the country to attend. Rilla also wanted to go, but Mrs. Temany obviously didn't like her idea.
