Description
Plot Summary
In the summer of 1914, a single apartment in London. Ballet actress Serena Ambrose (played by Claire Bloom) attempted suicide by turning on gas in her room. Fortunately, after getting drunk, her neighbor Kalferro (played by Charles Chaplin) who had just returned home happened to save her. After Serilla woke up, Kalferro learned that she had the idea of suicide because she was suffering from rheumatism and could no longer dance. And Calvero was once a great comedian. He took good care of Serilla and dispelled her suicidal thoughts with his own comedic humor. Six months later, Selena successfully stood up again and played an important role in a ballet. However, Casella fell deeply in love with a composer, and Kalferro could only silently bless them, performing his tearful comedy alone. The theme song of this film was personally produced by Charlie Chaplin, and won the Best Original Score (Drama) award at the 45th Academy Awards in 1973 for its beautiful and moving melody.
