Description
Plot Summary
Laura (played by Julia Roberts) never imagined that her marriage would be so painful for her. In just three years, her husband Martin (played by Patrick Bergin)'s desire for control and exclusivity had far exceeded the normal range, and his madness and violence forced Laura to submit to her husband's surveillance and control. During a sea trip, Laura jumped into the sea. As someone familiar with water, she deliberately pretended to be afraid of water in her daily life, just to prepare for this escape. Martin thought that Laura, who couldn't swim, had already died in the sea, but in reality, Laura not only settled down in a small town but also met the man he trusted, Ben (played by Kevin Anderson). Just as Laura's life was gradually getting on track, Martin accidentally discovered Laura's secret that she had not died, and he angrily embarked on a journey to find a wife.
