Description
Plot Summary
Director Robert Altman was extremely popular in the 1970s, and this film was his representative work of that time. In the Korean War workplace, two American military doctors (played by Donald Sutherland and Elliott Gould) treat war as if it were nothing while serving in a field hospital on the front lines. They spend their days either soaking female nurses' hot lips or playing golf in the camp. The director uses exaggerated black comedy humor to satirize the present and satirize the Vietnam War, which was raging at the time, in order to achieve his anti war goals. There are considerable artistic and entertaining aspects to it. Later, due to the box office success of the movie, it became a sensation and developed into a TV series of the same name that aired for many years.
