Plot Summary

Little Fox Todd (voiced by Mickey Rooney) had just been born when his mother was killed by hunters. Fortunately, he was adopted by an old woman (voiced by Pearl Bailey). Todd's best friend since childhood was a hunting dog named Little Copper (voiced by Kurt Russell), who played and frolicked together, spending his childhood carefree. Xiao Tong's owner is a hunter who takes hunting dogs to the mountains every winter. As Xiao Tong grows up, the hunter feels it's time to take him to the mountains for exercise. Spring has arrived, and after a winter, Todd and Xiao Tong have grown up and know each other's fate as natural enemies. Their friendship is gradually in crisis. During an outing, Taode's old dog boss, who was taking care of Xiao Tong, was accidentally hit by a train while chasing Taode, and his life was in critical condition. So the hunter pursued Taode with Little Copper. The struggle between two good friends in the past was inevitable. Taode, who was being chased away by Xiao Tong step by step, did not want them to encounter a bear.
