Plot Summary

A giant rock in Huaguo Mountain, the proud land of Dongsheng Shenzhou, gave birth to a bright and spiritual stone monkey (played by Liu Xiaoling Tong). After learning from Subhuti as his teacher, the stone monkey learned seventy-two transformations and acquired the ability to communicate with the heavens. Therefore, he occupied the mountain as king and called himself the Great Sage of Qi Tian. The Jade Emperor sent the Grand Master Laojun to descend to the mortal world to summon the Great Sage to ascend to the Heavenly Court. Later, the Great Sage caused a stir in the Heavenly Palace because he felt that the official position bestowed by the Jade Emperor was too low. After being trapped in the alchemy furnace by the White Venus for forty-nine days, the Great Sage kicked over the alchemy furnace and became the Golden Eyed Fire Eye. The Buddha saw that the situation was out of control, so he suppressed the Great Sage at the foot of Wuzhishan. Five hundred years have passed in a blink of an eye, and Tang Monk has been chosen by Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva as the one to go west to obtain Buddhist scriptures and benefit all sentient beings. The Great Sage, guided by Guanyin, apprenticed to Tang Monk as his teacher, and the master and disciple embarked on the journey of obtaining Buddhist scriptures.
