Plot Summary
The ups and downs of the life of a generation of movie star Ruan Lingyu (played by Maggie Cheung), from her brilliant screen career to her bleak personal life, have become topics of nostalgia and endless debate in later generations. The director of this film, Guan Jinpeng, used the filming style of a documentary, interweaving the original film of Ms. Ruan Lingyu with the scenes played by Maggie Cheung, and attaching interviews with veteran filmmakers and the feelings of actress Maggie Cheung herself.
