Plot Summary

In the year 2035 AD, humans were invaded by a virus developed by 12 monkey armies. Most humans died in this virus disaster, and only a few managed to escape, but they could only survive in the dark underground. Scientists have decided to send people back in time to 1996 to investigate the origins of the 12 monkey army. Prisoner James Cole (Bruce Willis) is selected as a volunteer. By a twist of fate, Cole traveled back to 1990 when he described the great disaster of the future to the people of that time. He was arrested as a mental illness and diagnosed with schizophrenia by doctor Catherine Shirley (played by Madeleine Stowe).
