Description
Plot Summary
On a dull day in New York, retired detective Jack Mosley (played by Bruce Willis) receives a thankless task: to walk through 16 blocks and escort a prisoner to testify in court. This should have been an extremely easy task, with only a 15 minute drive from the police station to the courtroom, and the only trouble seemed to be the incessant chatter of criminal Eddie (Mos Def). However, the fact is far more than that. An assassination attempt against Eddie revealed the truth behind the scenes to Jack: the so-called testimony in court was just a cover, and the real situation was that a group of corrupt police officers led by their colleague and old friend Frank (played by David Morse) used Jack's escort to eliminate tainted witnesses. After experiencing inner struggles, Jack sought justice in his heart to protect Eddie, but became the target of public criticism from the New York Police Department. The distance of 16 blocks has never been so long before
