Description

Plot Summary

Three stories that happened in Morocco, Mexico, and Japan. Richard (played by Brad Pitt) and his wife Susan (played by Cate Blanchett) travel to Morocco due to marital crisis. Susan is shot in a station wagon, and in order to treat her, a group of American tourists have to be stranded in a small village in Morocco. The police escalate the incident into a terrorist attack and launch an investigation, but the truth is surprisingly simple. Richard and his wife are stranded in Morocco, affecting their children at home. The Mexican nanny has to let her nephew (played by Gail Garcia) drive her and the children to attend their son's wedding. However, when they cross the border from Mexico, they encounter trouble. The police suspect her of kidnapping an American child, and the situation becomes uncontrollable. In Japan, the deaf mute girl Chihuako lives alone in a silent world. Her mother's suicide makes communication with her father even more difficult. Due to her disability, she also cannot receive attention from the opposite sex and her personality becomes increasingly rebellious. So, she communicated and exchanged ideas with the world in her own way.
