Plot Summary

In 2005, Jia Zhangke accompanied his friend, painter Liu Xiaodong, to the Three Gorges Reservoir area in Chongqing, which nurtured Chinese civilization, and experienced the local customs and traditions. In order to reflect the tremendous changes of the Three Gorges immigrants over the past 10 years, Liu Xiaodong specially selected 12 demolition workers as models for his sketches and created the oil painting "Nursery Bed". He reflects his inner honesty and authenticity with his naked body, and feels the ideas and emotions of the people in the reservoir area through communication with the model. In 2006, Liu Xiaodong came to Bangkok, Thailand to learn. In this hot city, Liu Xiaodong went deep into the women of the Caotai team to understand their living conditions. Through playing and rowing with 12 models, Liu Xiaodong captured the emotions and life experiences of people in different cultural atmospheres. This film is a contemporary work by director Jia Zhangke during the filming of 'Good People in Three Gorges'
