Plot Summary

Adapted from the Chinese classical novel "Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio". During the Qin and Han dynasties, Captain Wang Sheng (played by Chen Kun) led the Wang family army in a fierce battle in the Western Regions and rescued a woman named Xiao Wei (played by Zhou Xun). Wang Sheng did not see that before his arrival, Xiao Wei had just swallowed the human heart to maintain her human form. Jiuxiao Meihu Xiaowei fell in love at first sight with Wang Sheng, and after following him home, she identified herself as her younger sister. Seeing the deep love between Wang Sheng and Peirong (played by Zhao Wei), she secretly wanted to replace Peirong's position as Wang Sheng's wife. The lizard spirit Xiaoyi, who deeply loves Xiaowei and has always had the heart to kill her, confessed his feelings to Xiaowei several times, but was roared away by Xiaowei.
