Description

Plot Summary

After the US invasion of Iraq, Sergeant Williams James (played by Jeremy Renner) was transferred to the Army's bomb disposal unit to replace his colleague who had just died while on a mission in Baghdad. The other two members of the bomb disposal team, Sergeant Sanborn (played by Anthony Mackie) in charge of liaison and Special Forces Officer Owen (played by Brian Geraghty) in charge of cover, are quite disgusted with Williams' impulsive behavior. But during the bomb disposal operation at the United Nations building, Williams, who resisted orders to forcibly dismantle the bombs, received praise from Colonel Red (played by David Morse). During a warehouse bomb disposal mission, Williams believed that the Iraqi boy who was used as a corpse bomb was Beckham (played by Christopher Sayegh), whom he met at the military camp selling pirated DVDs. The death of Beckham further drove Williams crazy, as he left the military camp to investigate alone in the city... This film won six awards at the 82nd Academy Awards in 2010, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Editing, Best Sound Editing, and Best Sound Effects.
