Plot Summary

In the 6th century BC, Confucius (played by Chow Yun fat) was appreciated by Duke Ding of Lu (played by Yao Lu), who promoted him from the position of Grand Commandant to that of Grand Commandant, allowing him to implement his governing philosophy of governing the country with etiquette. However, the dominance of the Three Barbarians over the court also caused Confucius to feel numerous obstacles. He developed a grudge against Ji Huanzi (played by Chen Jianbin) for preventing his slave from being buried with him. He accompanied Duke Ding of Lu to the state of Qi to form an alliance, where he engaged in a battle of wits and bravery with Duke Jing of Qi (played by Ma Jingwu) and the Grand Minister Li Ting (played by Wang Huachun), safeguarding the interests of the state of Lu and reclaiming three cities.
