Plot Summary

At the end of the 22nd century, an unknown extraterrestrial creature known as "Gamiras" occupied Mars and continued to launch stargazing bombs with strong radioactive substances towards Earth, causing countless deaths and injuries to Earthlings, on the brink of extinction, and forcing them to seek survival underground. At this critical moment, humans formed a space fleet to expedition to Mars, but almost all of them were wiped out. The Yamato, which managed to escape, became the last hope for humanity. At the same time, a mysterious device traveled thousands of miles across the Milky Way and fell to Earth. After testing, it was discovered that the device could eliminate radioactive substances. In order to seek help from the highly intelligent creatures on the planet Iskandar in the Magellanic Nebula, the owner of the device, humans decided to take a gamble and sent the Yamato on this expedition. The former member of the Space Fleet who lost his brother in the Battle of Mars, Takashi Furukawa (played by Takuya Kimura), was called back to the team and became a witness to a great historical moment with a group of friends. And Jamiras, who learned about human movements, also launched waves of deadly attacks... This film is adapted from the original work of the same name by Akira Matsumoto.
