Description
Plot Summary
Due to the murder of her father, 14-year-old Mattie Rose (played by Hailee Steinfeld) arrived at the crime scene in Fort Smith as the eldest daughter to handle the aftermath on behalf of the family. Tom Cheney, the murderer of his father, is nowhere to be found. In this dry and busy western town, no one cares when the fugitive who killed a stranger will be caught. Mattie decides to hire a police officer to avenge her father. Through introduction, she chooses to work with the drunken Sheriff Rost Coburn (played by Jeff Bridges). At the same time, a Texas mounted police officer named LaBeouf (played by Matt Damon) also hopes to capture Tom Cheney. Fortunately, Texas offers a high reward, and in order for Cheney to be brought to justice locally, Mattie must catch her father's murderer before LaBeouf.
