Plot Summary

The friend who shared the same dream with you has already gained great fame, and you have been struggling for many years but still achieve nothing. Would you choose to kill him? Going back 11 years, in Dublin in the 1970s, a school boy named Neil McCormick (played by Ben Barnes) had a great rock dream and firmly believed that one day he would become famous. Paul, the lead singer of the Hype band at school, invited Neil's brother Ivan (played by Robert Sheehan) to join as a guitarist. However, the competitive Neil believed that he and his brother could make the band even better, so he rejected Paul on behalf of his brother and formed his own band. Subsequently, Paul changed his name to Bono and Hype band changed their name to U2, and their careers flourished. In order to be stronger than U2, the Neil brothers came to London and sought a record company contract. However, things were not always smooth sailing, as they repeatedly encountered obstacles. After finally forming the band Shook Up and gradually improving his career, Ivan unexpectedly learned that if it weren't for Neil, he would have been a member of U2 back then... This film is adapted from the autobiographical novel "I Almost Became Bono" by music critic Neil McCormick.
