Plot Summary

In the chaotic era of the late Eastern Han Dynasty, Liu Bei's two wives and a concubine named Qilan (played by Sun Li) were trapped in the Cao camp. Guan Yunchang (played by Donnie Yen) surrendered to Cao Cao (played by Jiang Wen) in order to maintain loyalty and righteousness, but he could not forgive Cao Cao's ambitious control of the Han dynasty and hoped to return to Liu Bei's side. Cao Cao admired Guan Yu's military talents and benevolent heart, and attempted to persuade him with the interests of the entire world. Coincidentally, Yuan Shao launched an attack on Cao, and Guan Yunchang killed Yan Liang in battle, earning him the title of Marquis of Han Shouting and forming a friendship with Zhang Liao (played by Shao Bing). After Cao Cao repatriated the two Liu ladies, he added aphrodisiacs to Guan Yunchang's wine, intending to cause him to have an unjust relationship with Qilan. Guan Yunchang had a secret affection for his fellow townsman Qilan in the past, and even killed officers and soldiers for her. This relationship was eventually blocked by the gifts of his uncle and sister-in-law. After waking up, Guan Yunchang fled to Liu Bei with Qilan and broke through numerous obstacles along the way, leaving behind the eternal legend of "crossing five barriers and killing six generals"
