Plot Summary

Seven elderly British people in their twilight years traveled to Jaipur, India for vacation. Among the seven, the understanding Evelyn (played by Judi Dench) attempts to live independently after losing her husband; Justice Graham (played by Tom Wilkinson), who suffers from heart disease, carries an unspeakable secret; Douglas (played by Bill Nighy) and Joan hope to improve their strained marital relationship; Norman, the mischievous old boy, and Maggie, the charming old boy, are always looking forward to a romantic encounter; As for Muriel (played by Maggie Smith), she always appears a bit cold and harsh as she waits for surgery. The seven people, each with their own concerns, were attracted by the exotic advertisement and coincidentally stayed at the Marigold Hotel together. But real restaurants are not as comfortable as advertised, and this journey of the Indian soul is not as satisfactory as expected. In a strange country, people began to reflect on the rest of their lives, and they did not want to regret their lives. They worked hard towards a happy ending for everyone.
