Description
Plot Summary
After the mother of the young Makoto (voiced by Satoshi Yamashiro) was buried in the flames, he formed a new family with his father Makoto (voiced by Takuya Kimura) and stepmother Natsuko (voiced by Kana Kimura). The real person who is deeply immersed in sadness is gloomy and reclusive, making it difficult to integrate into the new environment. In an accident, he followed a talking heron (voiced by Shohei Sugata) into an abandoned mysterious tower, only to unexpectedly enter the fantasy "world of the dead" and embark on an incredible adventure... The title of the film pays tribute to the novel of the same name published by novelist Genzaburo Yoshino in 1937, but the story is original by Hayao Miyazaki.
