A dark and oppressive industrial town, with piercing machine roar noise. Henry Spencer (played by Jack Nance) visits his girlfriend's house for the first time, only to witness a strange and twisted family with a domineering mother, an incompetent father, a vegetative grandmother, and a clumsy daughter. What made Henry feel even more helpless was that he was forced to marry his girlfriend. Overnight, Henry became the father of a deformed child. The ugly and disgusting appearance of the baby made Henry extremely fearful and anxious, and also caused his newlywed wife to flee in the middle of the night because she couldn't bear the baby's crying. Henry could no longer tolerate such an unbearable life and nightmares, and ultimately personally dismembered this deformed premature baby with scissors. The feature film debut "Rubber Head" was created by David Lynch, a pioneer of the American New Wave movement, and took five years to complete. Once released, it challenged the traditional and conservative film industry with a strong avant-garde and eerie style. Amidst the emotional shaking of the camera and the pervasive darkness and corruption, David Lynch constructed a distorted and pathological portrayal of family relationships, revealing the dark side of human nature. This technique of using Freudian psychoanalysis to analyze the anxiety and depression in the human spiritual world, coupled with highly visually impactful images, makes David Lynch unique in the film industry.

Technical Specifications

Director:

David Lynch

Cast:

Jack Nance, Charlotte Stewart, Allen Joseph, Jeanne Bates

Audio:

EnglishLPCM2.0 / English2.0

Subtitles:

English / French / Spanish / Simplified Chinese / Traditional Chinese
