Description

Plot Summary

Truffaut's first color film is also the most socially and politically conscious of his works. In the future world, all books are banned, reading is a crime, and all books must be handed over and burned. The task of firefighters is not to extinguish fires and rescue people, but to burn books and capture readers. So there are some book lovers who memorize books and hope they can be passed down in the future. These people are called "book lovers". The male protagonist was originally a loyal firefighter, and burning books was his duty. Once I met a girl and was influenced by her, gradually changing my outlook on life and discovering the spiritual world that was once filled with books. After experiencing this warm and intimate spiritual life, she could no longer tolerate the cold and ruthless mechanical society. Finally, his betrayal of stealing books was reported by his wife, and he and his lover managed to escape to another beautiful world that suited their ideals, where books existed and repeated the true life of humanity. Adapted from the science fiction novel by American author Ray Bradbury. (Movie biweekly)
