Plot Summary

The old boxer played by Gu Wenzong was suddenly attacked by disciples of the Hundred Martial Arts School. Fortunately, the daughter played by Wang Ping and the disciple played by Luo Lie were rescued in time to avoid danger; Gu knew that he was old and weak, and did not have enough energy to teach martial arts to Luo Lie. At the same time, he was worried that the evil faction would take away the championship of the national competition, so he instructed Luo Lie to switch to the Shangwu Academy to learn martial arts, with the hope of winning the championship. On his way to apprentice, Luo Lie encountered a prostitute played by the criminal TIAO actor Wang Jinfeng. He pulled out his sword to help rescue Wang Jinfeng. After being rescued, Wang Jinfeng wanted to commit to him, but unfortunately, Luo Lie already had his junior sister Wang Ping in his heart, so he refused Wang Jinfeng's offer of love. Hou Luo Lie was repeatedly harassed by members of the Hundred Martial Arts Academy, and was even injured by Japanese ronin who were foreign aid to the academy... Although Hu Jinquan's "Drunken Hero" and Zhang Che's "One Armed Knife" had already gained popularity overseas in the 1960s, it was the emergence of Bruce Lee that truly made martial arts films a sensation in the European and American markets. The emergence of "Tangshan Big Brother" in 1971 sparked strong interest in Hong Kong films among European and American audiences. So, making martial arts movies to sell overseas had become a trend at that time. This film, directed by Zheng Changhe, starred Golden Horse actress Jiang Ping and martial arts superstar Luo Lie, and gained some popularity overseas.
