Description

Plot Summary

A rebellion broke out in a distant galaxy, and the Galactic Republic was overthrown. Princess Leia (played by Carrie Fisher) of Alderland led a resistance organization to fight against the Galactic Empire, but unfortunately was captured by Lord Vader (played by David Prowse) of the Galactic Empire. Robot R2-D2, carrying the structural diagram of the new weapon "Death Star" of the Galactic Empire, and its companion translator robot C-3PO, fled to Tatooine. On the way, they were caught by the Gavas and sold to the uncle of young Luke Skywalker (played by Mark Hamill). With Luke's help, everyone accidentally found the reclusive Jedi Knight Obi Wan Kenobi (played by Alec Guinness). Obi Wan gave Luke the way of the Jedi, took Luke and two robots to the port city of Mosisle, and hired the Millennium Falcon spaceship of smuggler Han Solo (Harrison Ford) to go to Aldland... This film won the 50th Oscar for six awards, including best art direction, best costume design, best visual effects, best editing, best original music, best sound effect, and special contribution award (Benbert Ben Burtt), and was nominated for four awards, including best film, best supporting actor (Alex Guinness), best director (George Lucas), and best original film music.
