Plot Summary

In the late Qing Dynasty, Huang Feihong (Jet Li), a martial arts master from Foshan, Guangdong who had served as the head of the Black Flag Navy and the head coach of the militia, often practiced martial arts in Baozhilin, hoping to strengthen himself and save the country. However, seeing the government struggling to survive and foreigners acting arrogantly, he gradually realized that martial arts alone was not enough to free the people from the sea of suffering, and began to work hard to find other ways to save the country. Meixian Liang Kuan (Yuan Biao) met Huang Feihong's lover Thirteen Aunt (Guan Zhilin) at the theater and had various misunderstandings with Huang Feihong. Eventually, he joined the martial arts master Yan Zhendong and became an enemy of Huang Feihong. Yan Zhendong joined forces with foreigners to promote the United States as a world of gold, deceiving and kidnapping a large number of Chinese women, including Thirteen Aunt, onto foreign ships.
