Plot Summary

Ambassador Han (played by Tzi Ma) had previously led the crackdown on the smuggling activities of the Zhongtao criminal group before being stationed in the United States, which caused him to be resented by his enemies. In the United States, Zhong Tao instructed his subordinates to kidnap the daughter of Ambassador Han, Su Yang (played by Julia Hsu), and demanded a ransom of $50 million. The FBI has launched a comprehensive investigation upon hearing the news. Ambassador Han is concerned about the efficiency of the US and insists on dispatching his old partner from Hong Kong, Inspector Li (played by Jackie Chan), to assist. In order to prevent Li from solving the case first, the FBI sent problem detective Carter (played by Chris Tucker) from the Los Angeles Police Department as Li's partner. Carter has a bold and high-profile style, while Li has extraordinary skills and is low-key and cautious. This temporary pairing has caused many misunderstandings and jokes. But with each crisis, the two gradually developed a tacit understanding. Will their rescue operation ultimately succeed?
