Description
Plot Summary
In 1942, World War II had entered the stage of external heat. In the South Pacific, Japan and the United States engaged in fierce competition, and the bottom line of humanity was completely destroyed in the sound of gunfire. The Charlie Infantry Company, belonging to the US military, received a challenging mission to land on Guadalcanal Island and recapture the 210 position occupied by the Japanese army. The Japanese army has a geographical advantage and their defense is as solid as gold soup. The military orders are like mountains, even the soldiers of the Charlie Infantry Company must bravely move forward. These young men devote themselves to this cruel battlefield for the so-called justice... This film is adapted from the 1962 novel of the same name by American author James Jones and won the Golden Bear Award and Honorary Mention at the 1999 Berlin International Film Festival; Chicago in 1999
