Description

Plot Summary

In 1944, as World War II was nearing its end, on the Soviet German battlefield in the east, the Red Army sent a seven member reconnaissance team led by Lieutenant Travkin (played by Igor Petrenko) to destroy the final resistance of fascism. They were about to penetrate deep into enemy territory to understand the enemy's military deployment. This dangerous mission has resulted in the sacrifice of multiple soldiers, but the brave reconnaissance team members set off resolutely. Before leaving, Travkin and the signal soldier Kaja (played by Yekaterina Vulichenko) agreed to use "stars" and "earth" as secret codes for each other to communicate in the radio waves. The reconnaissance team successfully infiltrated behind enemy lines and gradually transmitted valuable intelligence. Realizing that the German side posed a great threat to the reconnaissance team, they dispatched heavy troops to block traffic, causing the reconnaissance team to suffer huge losses. Travkin faced the situation of losing his comrades and radio station, but decided to continue moving forward and complete his final mission... This film won multiple awards, including the 2002 Honfleur Russian Film Festival Grand Prize.
